Must Have Baby Items

As a new mom you have so many people telling you "Oh, you need this! We used this!" etc. Most of the time this information is helpful as a first time mom, but other times it can be a bit overwhelming. So, I wanted to give you a simple list of baby items that I really don't think I could have lived without as a new mama. I'm not here to tell you what to do or buy, i'm simply just here to share some items that I loved and still love! Feel free to click the links to shop!
So first things first, lets talk pacifiers. At first we used Ryan & Rose pacifiers and they are the cutest! Now we use BIBS USA pacifiers and we LOVE them! Your baby may or may not take a paci, but if they do, these are great options. Another item I couldn't live without would definitely be BioGaia Probiotic Drops. These are great for your babies gut health which can be sort of a mess at first as they are adjusting to breastmilk or formula. This really helped my son stay regular and can help with colic too. We also gave him Vitamin D Drops per his doctors recommendation because he is exclusively breastfed so he didn't get a lot of vitamin D through breastmilk. Of course consult with your baby's doctor first, but these are the ones we used.
When it comes to sleep, as a new mom you want to do everything in your power to make your baby comfortable so that both you and baby can get as much sleep as you can. We tried MANY different brands of swaddles and this is the only one Lawson couldn't get out of. The Love To Dream swaddle is my favorite for many reasons. It's lightweight, baby can move their arms so they don't feel confined to one position, and if they lose their pacifier at night they are still able to suck on their hands for comfort (which was super helpful). After Lawson started rolling, we transitioned to the Halo Sleep Sack and that has worked really well for us! We also loved these cute little night gowns for him because it made middle of the night diapers changes much easier, plus they are super soft. We also loved the DockATot and used it every single day. He took a lot of naps in it and he loved laying in it. It is super cozy for them!
Having a teething baby can be quite a hard time for everyone. We want to do what we can to help our little one have the least amount of discomfort as possible. These are a few things that we have used and are still using to this day and have helped tremendously! First are these Camilia Teething Tablets. They are fairly cheap and seem to work quickly. Another one we love is this Punkin Butt Teething Oil. I know some people are hesitant to put any type of oil in their babies mouth (which I understand), but this is something I am comfortable with and I definitely think it works. I also use Young Living Copaiba oil for teething as well (feel free to use my member ID 20921875 if you decide to purchase).
Lets talk travel. I personally can't be in my house for more than 3 days without taking a little target trip or just some sort of outing, so I want to share my favorite traveling necessities. Our favorite carseat DOONA is literally a God send. Whoever invented this thing is a genius. I wish I could personally thank them because this carseat/stroller contraption literally saved me (and my back) lol! I know this item is pricey, but in my opinion it is totally worth it! The DOONA is a car seat that turns into a stroller with one click of a button, need I say more? Didn't think so! I also like to use this versatile nursing cover/carseat cover when I am out. Baby-wearing is one of my favorite things. It keeps your baby close to you and gives you both hands free which is a plus. This Ergo Baby Carrier is my favorite one along with this Wrap for the newborn stage.
My son Lawson loves to hang out and play on the floor, but when he wants to move around, bounce, walk, etc. this is what we put him in. We use this jumper all the time. I love it because the seat turns and he can play with all of the different toys on it. It also plays music (don't worry, there's an off button lol). His new favorite mobile toy is definitely the Joovy Spoon Walker, he is obsessed with this thing. He runs around all over the house and chases us around, it's the cutest thing ever!
A few more random items we have enjoyed using are the Boppy nursing pillow and the Boppy Lounger. I used the nursing pillow a lot when Lawson was a newborn but now we mostly use it for tummy time or to put behind him on the floor. We used the lounger a lot when he was a newborn up until he started rolling. He would lay in it while we watched TV or while I folded laundry, etc. It was great! For bath time we have used the Angel Care bath and its my favorite! Its small and easy to store, and it positions the baby well to make bathing easy. One last random item is something we use daily. The Hatch Baby Rest is a must have. It is a sound machine and night light in one and has so many different sounds and colors. What I love most is that I am able to control everything with the app on my phone so I can adjust volume, sound, color, etc. without having to go in his room.
There are probably many more items that I could share with you, maybe I will do a part 2 blog post. Let me know if that would be something you'd like! I hope this helped you and gave you some good suggestions! Leave a comment and share your must have baby items!
Much Love,
Rachael
